Our center aims to create and develop a sense of creativity which has been neglected due to the harsh reality people in this part of the world live in.
We try to create an environment which is suitable for building the next generation of young Palestinians who will play a major role in developing their community and achieving progress and prosperity.
Offering individuals the opportunity to develop their ability to confront and face existing challenges forms the basis of the learning process.
Therefore, the center aims to develop computer and IT skills among the boys and girls of our community, educating them and giving them the space needed to express themselves in a different way.

2. Building a generation of independent and confident youth
3. Encouraging children to research and be creative
4. Spreading a culture of science and IT technology
5. Encouraging young girls to enter the IT world
6. Expanding the horizon of parents by directing their children and helping them shape their personality

They aim to improve participants' knowledge of IT and computers, which is currently on a relatively low level.
These workshops target youth and aim to introduce and develop the concept and the idea of theatre, giving the participants a space in which they are free to engage in creation, develop their ideas and express their feelings - their illusions, joys, fears, aspirations and dreams.
This project focuses on introducing youth to the different aspects of theatre production, including acting, reading and writing scripts, stage management, makeup and costume design. The participants also have the opportunity to engage in other performing arts, such as dance and movement.
In addition to regular training, these workshops also involve youth in preparing their own plays, performed on stage for a wide audience.
In addition to the more advanced acting and theatre production project, children of Jenin Refugee Camp also participate in drama therapy workshops. These workshops are based on a therapeutic method which allows participants to explore their inner conflicts by acting out their feelings and emotions.
Through these workshops, participants are able to better understand themselves and their surroundings, and to increase their sense of self-worth. In addition, these workshops strengthen and develop children's ability to stand up for their beliefs and to confront the challenges and hardships of their daily reality.
The Freedom Theatre has recently launched its new circus project. A group of children and youth participate in weekly workshops, supervised by professional trainers from Nablus who teach clownery and other circus skills.
The positive impact of theatre and drama on the psychological health of children is well documented. However, circus and clownery also have a very important effect on children's physical and psychological health. This new project utilises the therapeutic method of laughter, which is widely used in various forms of health care.
In addition to the courses in theatre and performing arts, The Freedom Theatre also offers photography and film workshops.
These courses are aimed at young boys and girls in the camp, and offer them a range of tools which help expand the students' imagination and their ability to create and excel.
These courses also increase the students' self confidence and their sense of responsibility, by introducing them to new forms of creative self-expression.
Due to the political, economic and social circumstances of our Palestinian people and the Arab nation, we at The Freedom Theatre have initiated a new course in journalism for boys and girls from Jenin and Jenin Refugee Camp.
The course is supervised by qualified local and international instructors and volunteers and aims to build a new educated and outspoken generation. The aim of this project is to clarify the facts and realities that have been distorted by local individuals and other parties.
Knowing that media plays a very important role in society, The Freedom Theatre hopes, through these courses, to give youth the opportunity to make their voices heard to a wide audience. It aims to empower the students by offering them a range of media tools that can help them achieve their aspirations through creative means.
Palestinian folklore is a sacred and important treasure that Palestinians are trying hard to preserve. Dabkeh is a type of folk dance performed at weddings. The Dabkeh group consists of at least 7 dancers, a Yarghoul or Shababa player (an instrument similar to the flute) and a percussionist.
There are various types of the Dabkeh dance.
Adalo'na Dabkeh:
Characterised by medium rhythm. The songs accompanying this type of Dabkeh are different from those used in the past but have the same rhythm. They usually start with the words "Alla Dalo'na", followed by lyrics appropriate for the occasion.
Zarif Atoul Dabkeh:
Songs used in this kind of Dabkeh express compliments, with the singer searching for words that describe the virtues and good qualities found in people, in beautiful women and in handsome men. This type of Dabkeh is used at weddings as well as other occasions.
The Freedom Theatre formed a Dabkeh group in order to preserve our valuable heritage.
